2026 Scholarship Announcement
It’s that time of year again, as college-bound seniors start their search for financial aid.
This year, the Charlotte Community Association (CCA), in cooperation with the Edward Watson Scholarship Fund, will be offering two $1000 scholarships. These will be awarded to two college/trade/vocational/technical school-bound students who reside in the Charlotte neighborhood. The awards of two $1,000 scholarships are provided by a separate fund created in memory of Edward Watson, a Charlotte resident and former Charlotte High student.
The criteria used to determine the recipients of the Edward Watson Memorial Community Scholarships are as follows:
The college, trade, vocational or technical school bound seniors must have attended any Rochester area high school public or private and reside in the Charlotte community. It is based on academics, extracurricular activities, and community service, as well as any honors received, letters of reference and finally a short essay from the applicant. The Scholarship Committee assigns a weight to each of these categories and independently scores each application.
An application will be available for the scholarships online at the CCA website www.charlottecca.org. A printed application and instructions will be available at the Charlotte Branch Library.
