CITY OF ROCHESTER UPDATES
Rochester Police Department (RPD) - Officer Blanchard
Officer Blanchard indicated that Tim Hall is the new Lieutenant for the Northwest Quadrant.
He indicated that of the 3 officers shot before Christmas, two are out of the hospital and one is still
recovering. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. The trauma team at Strong Hospital did
an amazing job when they were brought in. These are dangerous times for Police Officers
nationwide.
During the Polar Plunge on February 1st, RPD will raise money and have staff available to assist
plungers and visitors.
The traffic camera north of Eastman Blvd. near the Research bldg. does not belong to RPD. Those
cameras are very expensive and no longer deployed by RPD since they tend to get destroyed so not
cost effective to use them.
The school bus camera violators, who were supposed to start being ticketed by 1/5 will not start to be
ticketed until 1/20/26 since a 3rd party actually issues the tickets and the 2 month practice period
resulted in 4,000 warnings which are still in the process of being sent out.
