CCA General Meeting - February 2, 2026

Meeting Minutes:

February 2, 2026 @ 7:00pm

Location: Roger Robach Community Center
Welcome and Call to Order:

Present: CCA Board of Directors: Jose Peo, President; Tom Bruce, Vice President; Jeanette Elliot, Communication Director; John Kabrovski, Director; Tony Micciche and about 17 residents plus presenters.

Absent: David Steklenski, Treasurer (excused monthly conflict), Sue Hyde, Secretary.

CITY OF ROCHESTER UPDATES

Rochester Police Department (RPD) - Officer Blanchard

Officer Jay Blanchard reported that everything went well at the Polar Plunge. The school bus camera law is now in effect. Drivers passing stopped school buses will be ticketed. The grace period is over.

There was an shooting assault at 95 Lake Ave. on January 7th. A firearm was recovered.

Rochester Fire Department (RFD) Engine 19- Captain Todd Hodges

During the Polar Plunge walking on the pier was icy and very dangerous. A call came into Engine 19 at about 1:30pm to rescue a man who had fallen into the River on the east side of the pier. Other RFD companies responded as well and the gentleman was rescued but was hypothermic and semi- conscious. He was escorted to the hospital.

Northwest Neighborhood Service Center (NSC) - Anna Keller

Last month, the bright lights were addressed at the plaza on Lake Ave.

City Council NW Representative - Bridget Monroe
Mitch Rowe reporting - Bridgette was not available because she injured her back in an accident. We all wish her a speedy recovery.

1. Bridge repair project at Turning Point - Bids are out.
2. Heating units will be replaced at the Terminal Bldg.
3. Port redevelopment still in the planning stages.
4. Zoning realignment being reworked.

Jose Peo commented that the flower pots at the port (City) need attention.

Wendel Lambert from Assembly Member, Sarah Clark’s office

 Provided a summary of her State of the State address:
• $300 million funding going to the city ($75 million for Parks)
• $225 million for capital projects;ie. Red Wing Stadium budget still being worked on.
• Jose Peo met with Sarah and Senator Cooney about “Welcome to Charlotte” High Falls bungee jump or gondolas on the river.

NEIGHBORHOOD UPDATES/COMMUNITY CONCERNS

Ontario Beach Park Program Committee

Holy Cross will be hosting a St. Patrick’s Day event on March 7th with Food and Irish Dancers. $10/ person.

President’s Report

Get your tickets to the Senior Ball on March 8th at the Arbor at the Port. 4-7 pm. Your $10 ticket covers music, dancing, dinner and lots of fun. A limited number of tickets are available so get your tickets on our website charlottecca.org. Click on the flyer which will get you to the order form or click on events, and select the Senior Ball image.

Vice President’s Report

Winter Fest was a huge success this year. Sold lots of sweatshirts, hot drinks and donuts as well as some tickets to the ball. Thank you to our great volunteers; Kimberly, Pam and Suzy and Maria. Thank you to Jeanette for our beautiful signs and posters. You all certainly helped to make our customers happy.
Sear and Sacerum won the chili contest.

Secretary’s Report- No report.

Treasurer’s Report

CCA balance as of 01/01/26 was $16,587.

Communication Director - No report.
